Welcome to Roecroft School Parliament. We are a very important part of the school because we are the children’s voice.
We meet regularly with our link teacher Miss Houghton.
The School Parliament is voted for by the whole school following an assembly where they make a speech about why they would be a good member of parliament.
This year each School Parliament member will be given a year group to represent. They will visit the classes regularly and discuss ideas, they will then feedback to the rest of the parliament and Mrs Cross.
Throughout the year, School Parliament have the opportunity to raise money for different charities and the school. They also visit the Houses of Parliament and deliver an assembly to the rest of the school explaining what they learnt.
The school parliament notice board displays information about what they do and they regularly share information with the rest of the school during assemblies.
In Autumn term we:
- Sold poppies to raise money for the Royal British Legion.
- Promoted the 'Love in a Box' campaign and sent over 150 boxes to children in Eastern Europe.
- Helped FORLs sell cake to raise money for Children in Need.
- Made and sold Hot Chocolate Spoons at the Stotfold Community Christmas Fayre to raise money for the school.
